Fishing

In Ireland there are plenty of well stocked mountain streams, rivers and lakes offering excellent opportunities for trout and salmon fishing. Annascaul Lake is one such example.  Inch offers great beach fishing but you may have to work for it.

Kerry has some of the finest angling in Europe on offer. Game, coarse and sea-fishing can be very good. These include bass, flounder, Turbot pollack ling and wreasse.  However great angling doesn’t jump at the angler anymore as there are many dozens of potential waters where the search must occur. Along with your rod, bring your patience

If fishing in Kerry for sea – trout or salmon a government licence is required. These are purchased at tackle shops, hotels and fisheries boards.  The next thing needed is a local permit, especially when fishing for salmon or sea trout.
